This second project with SMART Communications Inc. turned out to another big success and accomplishment of the Association. Held last 09 November 2006 at Aliw Theater, Pasay City, the show was well attended by the industry, seafarers’ families and friends, and the foreign shipowners from the delegates of the LSM Manning & Training Conference held timely with the event.

The show featured fifteen very talented contestants; five (5)-kiddy contestants or named as “Junior na Marino” and ten (10) Adult contestants or named as “Kilabot na Marino”. All contestants are coming from different member-manning companies who were the following:

The program was not only fully entertaining but really expressed Filipino Seafarers qualities and what the Philippine industry is doing to maintain its reputation of being world’s most preferred choice. Any member-family of a seafarer and the seafarers themselves will feel proud as the whole show itself depicted the greatness and contribution of the Filipino seafarers for the country’s economy and the whole country itself.

One thing that became significant also was the strengthened partnership of the Association and Smart Communications Inc. in pursuing projects to the benefit of the member-companies as well as the industry as a whole.

Finally, SINGFARER Champions were Michael Ponce from Dolphin Ship Management Inc. for the Kilabot na Marino Category and Darlene Ordanza from Ventis Maritime Corporation for the Junior Marino Category.
