Another successful and exciting Joint Inter-Manning Badminton Tournament was held last 18 August 2007. The ClubSixFifty in Libis Quezon City was the host venue that supported 12 badminton match and practice courts that housed the main arena, utilized by participants throughout the event.

With 236 players from member and non-member manning companies taking part, the weekend saw the ClubSixFifty buzzing with energy and excitement despite of the heavy raining condition.

Mr. Marlon Roño, Chairman of FAME Special Projects and Events Committee officially opened the game and welcomed the participants. The program was highlighted with the message from Engr. Sammuel T. Lim, President of Filipino Association for Mariners’ Employment (FAME) and presence of Ms. Josephine Francisco who also served the ceremonial toss with Mr. Marlon Roño.

The organizing committee consists of Mr. Marlon Roño (Chairman), Ms. Arleen Asuncion (Co-Chairman) and the members include Ms. Josephine Roldan, Ms. Nancy Ebron, Ms. Marilyn Yu, Mr. Nemesio Tioco, Ms. Carmen Rebusi, Mr. Alfredo Mendoza, Mr. Miguel Rivera, Capt. Banny Briones and C/E Jose Melchor Del Pilar.

The tournament begun with a team format, and this year’s event hosted a record number of team entries from 30 different manning companies. There were 177 team matches played for the elimination round for ladies double, men’s double and mixed doubles categories.

The competition was an excellent display of retrieving abilities, athleticism and unparalleled fitness with superb badminton played by all. During the championship, the finalists energetically showcased their great skills, strength, and smashing techniques as they played vigorously to win the grand title.
