Another year turned success as FAME held its 4th FAME Golf Invitational Tournament last 25 April 2008 at the Manila Southwoods Golf & Country Club, Carmona Cavite which brought 90 players from different member manning companies, other maritime industry stakeholders and industry partners.

For over past three years, the annual golf tournament of FAME had been an avenue for closer ties in the local maritime industry because of the friendly competition and camaraderie it has fostered through the years amongst the key industry players from the country’s most established and successful ship-manning companies and employers of Filipino seafarers working onboard ocean-going vessels. And this was evidently seen with the presence of Capt. Teodoro B. Quijano, Vice-President of the Philippine Japan Manning Consultative Council (PJMCC), who also supported the event as a major sponsor, Atty. Vincent C. Miranda of Philippine Manning Agencies and Ship Managers (PAMAS) as well as Mr. Abraham Tablizo, President of Philippine Ship Agents Association (PSAA).

Hence, as its expression of appreciation to those who had been constantly participating in the Golf Tournament of the Association, Engr. Sammuel T. Lim, FAME President and Mr. Marlon R. Roño, Chairman of the FAME Special Projects & Events Committee, inducted the “Hall of FAMErs” of the FAME golf tournament – those who consistently participated in the past three years and this year’s tournament.
