The Filipino Association for Mariners’ Employment (FAME) held its Symposium on the Shipping Crisis with the goals of keeping the industry abreast with the prevailing shipping crisis and its impact in the local manning industry, and develop strategies and action plans to ensure the sustainability of the Philippine manning industry. Among the speakers were (left to right) Administrator Carmelita S. Dimzon of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, FAME president Marlon Rono and Ragnar Nielsen, president – CEO of Masterbulk Pte. Of Singapore. FAME is an organization of about 100 manning companies operating in the Philippines.
