The Joint Manning Group formalized the establishment of a first-ever federation of manning companies by signing a Memorandum of Agreement last 17 September 2008 at the FAME Office. The Joint Manning Group is composed of the five leading manning associations in the country namely the Filipino Association for Mariners’ Employment, Inc. (FAME) headed by Engr. Sammuel T. Lim, Filipino Shipowners’ Association (FSA) headed by Mr. Dario R. Alampay, International Maritime Association of the Philippines (INTERMAP) headed by Mr. Jose Albar G. Kato, Philippine Association of Manning Agencies and Ship Managers Inc. (PAMAS) headed by Atty. Vincent C. Miranda and Philippine-Japan Manning Consultative Council (PJMCC) headed by Mr. Eduardo U. Manese.

The group started when their first ever joint endeavor – the Philippine Manning Convention 2007 concluded with a resounding success. This Convention made way for the charting of the Philippine Maritime Industry’s ‘Road Map’. The Philmancon 2007 was followed by the Phimancon Symposium2008: Navigating the Road Map which was spearheaded once again by the five (5) Associations and was again a huge success.

With all the accomplishments they are achieving jointly, the heads of the Associations decided to formalize their cooperative spirit. By doing so, they will optimize their network of resources and jointly and continuously push for improvement in the manning industry.
