The Joint Manning Group composed of the Philippine Maritime Industry’s five leading manning agencies namely Filipino Association for Mariners’ Employment, Inc. (FAME), Filipino Shipowners’ Association (FSA), International Maritime Association of the Philippines (INTERMAP), Philippine Association of Manning Agencies and Ship Managers Inc. (PAMAS) and Philippine-Japan Manning Consultative Council (PJMCC), partnered with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in conducting a Maritime Career and Jobs Fair Caravan as part of their dedication in addressing the current global shortage of Filipino seafarers .

DOLE who spearheaded the activity also made partnership with different government agencies - CHED, DepEd, and TESDA in carrying out the said event.

The Maritime Career Caravan, held in different Regions in the country, is an information dissemination campaign regarding the maritime profession given to high school principals, guidance counselors & students to promote the Marine Profession.

On the other hand the Jobs Fair Caravan, held on the same Regions as the Maritime Career Caravan, conducted a simultaneous orientation to students as well as provided booths of different manning agencies and maritime schools where qualified applicants and students interested to pursue a maritime career may inquire. This activity aimed to tap graduates up to 5 years back who were not absorbed by the industry to undergo industry sponsored retraining prior to possible embarkation.
