FAME’s main objective in launching such activity is to promote health awareness and camaraderie amongst the industry leaders and their employees within the maritime manning industry.

In order to ensure its success, the service of a badminton expert, Mr. Joven Yulo of Southwest Tankers, Inc., Mr. Alex Querol and Mr. Noel L. Leviste, both from Magsaysay Maritime Corporation, were employed to organize the tournament.

All capable and interested participants from member companies were encouraged to join the tournament. A Badminton Clinic for beginners who are interested to join were given orientation and taught the rules and conduct of the game to boost the participation of all member companies.

A leveling of participants before the tournament was carried out to gauge the player’s skills. This will ensure that players will only play with those that have the same strength, agility and skills during the competition.

A total of thirteen (13) levels with one hundred four (104) players participated the tournament.
